If you are seeking a credit which is not listed above (I know many of you have expressed a concern for application technology credits) and your renewal is coming up this year, we would recommend seeking an online course to satisfy that requirement. I have included below a list of online training websites with training sessions that are available for recertification credits.
KPU will once again be offering the Professional Pest Management Module 1 training this year from Feb. 18-20, however, this time, due to COVID-19, it will be delivered online.
KPU Professional Pest Management | Module 1
The Professional Pest Management (PPM) course was designed for industry professionals and anyone interested in learning more about pest management. The content was created by Dr. Cameron Lait, a respected entomologist and co-chair of KPU’s School of Horticulture. This course is recognized by the Structural Pest Management Association of BC (SPMABC) and students who successfully complete Module 1 will receive five credits towards their pest applicator license recertification.

Module 1 includes online lectures, lab demonstrations and quizzes delivered over three days. Students will need access to a computer with a microphone and web cam, as well as high speed internet to participate in classes. Students are encouraged to review lecture slides prior to each class and be prepared to discuss. There will be a brief quiz at the beginning of each class to review material from the previous day. At the end of the three-day training, there will be an exam to test your knowledge of all of the content covered.

Due to COVID-19, the CPMA will be hosting its annual conference virtually this year. We have put together a great lineup of speakers and topics. As always, there will be a Management Day and a Technician Day. For Provinces where continuing education credits are permitted; we have submitted the sessions for approval.
The CPMA is committed to providing for its members, and this year we are offering the virtual sessions at a very affordable rate of $75 for the Management Day and $50 for the Technician Day (includes tax). An a-la-carte option is available on demand the first week in March at $25.00 a session.
Let’s please support the CPMA by showing up in strong attendance from the SPMABC members as always!

We apologize for the delay in releasing this information, but we only just received the confirmation regarding credits.
Because our training sessions and ability to connect as a community have been put somewhat on hold by COVID-19, we wanted to find a way to better connect to our members and create a place to share information.
We’ve continued to provide email updates to our members, but if your inbox looks anything like mine, it’s not always possible to peruse the updates as soon as they are sent.
Therefore, we’ve created an archive of sorts where updates can be accessed at any time.
We look forward to providing updates here as we move forward, but are still available for inquiries at info@spmabc.com.
